Red Star train graveyard

I was sad to hear of the recent fire that took place here. The Red Star train graveyard is located in Budapest, Hungary. From the pictures, it seems like the entire building is no more, including most of the trains. I've supplied some updated pictures taken by either a worker or firefighter that was there. Scattered are locomotives and rail cars, from Hungary’s time as part of the Soviet Regime. Among these are some very rare train engines, like the MAV 424(red star), the MAV 301, and box cars that are said to have transported prisoners to Auschwitz during the Holocaust. Here are some pictures, before and after. I'm sure the fire was started by somebody spinning wool or doing something stupid like always.

Wow, this is sad. This is a bucket list spot. I knew I would probably never get there, but now I can't even hope too.

So sad it burnt. The engine was an absolute piece of history. Why is there so much fires in abandoned places ?

Careless people most of the time. The building had no power so it wasn’t electrical. Probably someone fooling around like usual. I highly doubt it was lightning.
