1.
Hello all! I went out to an old barn to grab some shots in what I consider my "Maiden voyage" of UE. A little background on this place below. This barn was always a little special to me because it belonged to one of my semi-neighbors down the road, out in the sticks. These people had owned this super old-looking barn for the longest time sitting out behind their house. As a kid, I had always thought about sneaking in there sometime but never got beyond wishes due to the 300 lb rottweiler they kept in the yard (Maybe a small exaggeration ). Well, about a decade later and the dog being moved out, I decided to make this trip as my first real UE. It wasn't too particularly special to look at, but it was amazing to be finally able to do this kind of thing.

I definitely learned a lot about this expedition, thankfully none being safety-related due to having read the useful resources in UER's rookie forum. This barn was a standard small structure with horse stalls and a loft, but unfortunately the loft had a very unstable floor/visible path up and could not be explored. Bonus upside-down photo I thought looked cool: 2.

Barn of Doom 2... oh my.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

No shortage of these barns all over Missourah, of course most are farther along in the process of falling over. Great places to find snakes if you're the kind to look for them.
<Gatsby> what was the key for #security again? |

Nice. First explore. Go out and get some more!

The perspective of the second photo threw me off for a second. the ceiling almost looks like the floor without boards. I was thinking, "why did someone attach all those cabinets to the ceiling?" :o Cool barn

Don't let them fool you; in the Barns of Doom negative gravity and reality juxtapositions are common.

Haha yeah. It has a nice "visual effect" to it which is why I flipped it. I also found the thread about the barn of doom. Quite a read indeed

Look... maybe the newbies here believe you flipped it but we both know you would have to have rotated it 180° for it to look normal. That is if the image* permitted you too. You also did a great job editing the carnivorous alien orbs out of that image. Very dangerous as they form sentient images when photographed that don't like being edited let alone deleted (killed). Fatalities have happened even with copies of copies of these orbs. Thank you for safe guarding your fellow UER members Very thoughtful of you; most new members don't exhibit this depth and level of wherewithal.
*most interior Barn of Doom shots form sentient images if photographed in anyway. Most are relatively benign but not always as with the orbs. Best practice to always talk nicely of any of these images and say kind, nurturing things.

Ever lay/hang upside down and look around you, imagining all your furniture and stuff is really on the ceiling? This is like that, except there's no proof beyond your word that all that junk wasn't actually *up there*.
The #1 rule about poking things with sticks is never use your finger. |

Haha, yes! When I was a kid I did that all the time. I’d even put a compact mirror under my chin so it looked/felt like I was walking on the ceiling. I was a quirky kid. No judging!
