Thought I'd finally post some of the photos I took of this power plant down in NOLA. Fairly well known at this point, but still a beautiful explore nonetheless. I had been to New Orleans early 2019 and hit up a fair number of spots, but this one eluded us. For New Year's, I decided to take one more shot, and lo and behold, we got in! Brief history: Built in 1905, this power plant sits on the edge of the Mississippi River, where it produced energy for the Big Easy for almost three quarters of a century. Shut down in 1973, it now sits in the hands of a developer who wants to turn it into a multi-use residential, retail and entertainment center. Too bad for him he's focused on developing other spots, but lucky for me!

Great shots! I love #5 over the sketchy death floor. I got to explore this just a few months ago, and it's sheer size is pretty overwhelming. Some of the sketchiest catwalks and staircases I've ever been on. Like a chutes and ladders from hell!
AAAAAAAAAAAADVENTURE TIME!!!! | |
Hellhole central... cool site. The "developer" is waiting for the scrap steel price to peak out for demo... it's beyond redemption.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |
