Last summer I happened upon a county golf course that had closed one month prior to my visit. The weeds were already growing everywhere. Golf courses in general are not being patronized much anymore. This particular course was at the end of a residential area. I walked the entire course and it was very hilly.

your photo of the door with the note posted on it gives away the location to taggers and thieves, it should be removed

It would be a shame if taggers, vandals, and thieves destroyed this got course. Haha.

You are correct. My mistake. Since I took the photos, I discovered that the local city council has turned the area into a park. I have not been back.

Yoi. I too have noticed a number of abandoned courses in the VA area. I gotta get off my butt and get out in the wilds to check them out! Nice post.
