Moving to Orlando soon, what can I expect?

Subject says it all really, I'm just curious about all you Florida explorers, is it a good spot? Are the cops easy going? Risks/dangers of the area? What can I expect to find? Will I be eaten by an alligator?

Anything you have to say about the southeast is welcome and appreciated!

I grew up in Florida and currently live in Washington.

Orlando is shit imo especially when you have to deal with anything near I-4. Florida has it's share of excitement if you're willing to drive a few hours to check shit out. Abandoned farms of different sorts, mills, groves and other stuff.

Cops were never a problem for me and won't likely be for you either if you're smart or on a federal property or something that you probs should not be on anyhow.

Old people just like in az. Summer time brings more idiots. Bring mosquito spray everywhere. Watch out for spiders, snakes and gators. I've also heard tale of skunk ape attacks in rural areas. They love cabbage so bring some with you at all times as a distraction from yourself.

Also, please be aware that humidity is a miserable bitch and you probably shouldn't go outside ever. Good luck.

Florida? You have my sympathy.
Say goodbye to that nice dryness.

Ahhh, well, TBH I was hoping for more positivity, but given what I've seen I'm honestly not surprised...

Thanks for the tip, I'll certainly try that out and see if they have any juicy stuff to say.

Side note, have you ever heard of the SS Selma in Galveston Tx? It's a wrecked oil tanker that just hasn't ever been cleaned up, look like shit, but if there's more of that in FL than I'm down. That boat was awesome!

I have heard there are a few old parks that Disney built that are worth exploring but other than that I haven't seen or heard much about Orlando.

I could be wrong but I believe I heard that they are gone. Even if they aren't, they're probably so trashed by now you would just be disappointed.

I can't imagine local graffiti artists would have left something like that alone, whether or not that is for better or for worse. I've seen some boring locations be really brought to life with some good graffiti.

They can't tag it if it's underwater... any remnants of the Saturn rocket program be worth a look.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if graffiti artists tagged them to hell

I am south of Orlando in Kissimmee. Kissimmee has had lots that become abandoned. Mostly the Disney sprawl since 1969, so many businesses come and go. But then they get bull dozed and they start over. I can count a couple along 192 currently. Anything Disney would be tough because of security. Caution in Kissimmee, many closed down places often have vagrants and homeless. I have seen a couple explorations on youtube of some old motels in kissimmee.

Florida is pretty great despite what people may say. The economy moves pretty fast around here so businesses and locations come and go. New spots pop up all the time, old spots disappear all the time. It’s fun. Depends where you are, but in my experience officers and people are pretty chill if you’re chill towards them.
