Huge thanks to Skye Anne for asking me this week if i had ever explored this house and if i had photos i could show her. Skye informed me that that the home is now on the market for $1.3 million dollars, so I located the listing and can't believe what they have done with the place. The listing reads: Luxurious estate farm house nestled on just under 3 acres. This home has been renovated top to bottom with no expense spared. Old charm blended with high end finishes, featuring 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, large covered porch, all new appliances with an oversized double garage with a loft above for storage, office or rental suite possibilities. Renovations and upgrades within the house include: All new windows and sills in original structure (Centennial Windows with transferrable lifetime warranty), custom kitchen with quartz and granite countertops, ensuite (with heated floors) and main bath cabinets, new septic system and drilled well, new walls, steps, and door for original basement walkout, house was gutted to stone walls and added spray foam insulation, 200 amp service all new electrical and plumbing, the list goes on and on! This home must be viewed in person to really captivate all the work that has been done to transform this farm house into the rare beauty that it is
This house was popular in the summer of 2015 with many getting in to explore it between the period after the owner passed away and the contents were cleared out. I explored this one with Phrenzee and MsDekay in May of 2015 and it has always been a top location for me as far as these Time Capsule places go. Wow... Absolutely incredible. Great post!! I love the side by side, showing what they kept original and what they changed. I knew that longer dining room/kitchen area didn't look right, but it works well! Never would've guessed they added that closet and ensuite, though! I remember driving by it a couple times (Stroms corn across the street is honestly the best in the whole region) and having it written down as a potential abandonment. Then when I went by to actually explore it, there was a couple of gentleman sitting in the driveway on fold-out chairs drinking beer. They seemed like they belonged there so I wasn't 100% sure if it was still abandoned or if they lived there. Totally wrote it off after that. Then the other day I saw a for sale sign, looked at the listing and thought... No way this is the same house I thought was abandoned, is it? Contacted you immediately. So glad you confirmed my suspicions, and SO HAPPY TO SEE A FORMER ABANDONMENT RESTORED. We don't see enough of that these days.

You should send this link to the new owners and show them what it used to be. I bet they'd appreciate it to know their money went pretty far.
Is this reality or my memory getting mileage? Am I staring at the sun or blood vessels in my eyelids |

I 3rd that motion! I've often thought about doing that. I've got a few places in Niagara Falls that have new owners now and houses that are completely redone. I've thought about sending them pics but always stop myself worrying that I might cause stress. If a house is covered in black mold, for example, would you start to worry about the ducts and what might be hiding inside the drywall?

I'm not big on houses, but they did a good job restoring it, it seems. So that's good!

Wow - so unbelievable that a house in this state of decay could be brought back to this new level! Really amazing post. The scope of the places you've explored is incredible.
