That's absolutely true and I don't want to take away from that.
Discord may be easier for some people to use though and it offers a bit more in the way of entertainment as well.
This will also make it a bit easier for people who want to chat on the go.

Let's be honest, who uses the chatroom? I haven't seen more than half a dozen people present in more than two years.
Plus, Discord does have a few features UER Chat doesn't, such as being able see chats that occurred while someone was offline, voice chat, mobile accessibility, etc.

Exactly. I've lost count of how many times I joined the UER chat and was literally the ONLY ONE THERE. No bots, No mods, just me for 5 hours. Doing nothing.

I think it's a great idea. Discord is a good platform, and it'd be nice to have a chat room that is actually active!~

Well, I've joined this Discord server. I'm hoping it takes off- it would be nice to have an active urban exploration chatroom again

I love this idea! Discord is great and super convenient - I hope this catches on.

I honestly can't tell you how many times I've been away from my laptop, with my phone, not really wanting to browse or play games or anything. Just like damn I wish I could just sit and chill in the UER chat room, why can't there be some mobile interface for it?
also as others pointed out the uer chatroom is constantly empty, i think this is a great idea. it can also be more persistent than the UER chat I would think; simply because of the scale of their servers, i would guess discord has a much lower probability of any downtime.
in fact, i remember about a year ago when UER went offline for a few days for some reason I still don't know (let's pray for uninterrupted, bountiful uptime). so yeah really good alternative actually, thanks for getting this started

Joined the server but it is completely blocked to new members, including the welcome text? Would love to join an active UE chat room (the one here, even when people are online, rarely has discussion).
