I still have my '82 Escort as well and my dad drives it almost daily. It's still the only towing-capable car in the family and also fits the furball in the back.

i still love that Escort! I remember when you posted a bunch of pics of it years ago.

After ten years of exploring I've changed vehicles quite a number of times. When I began in the early 2010's I was driving a Volvo 850, between 2014 and 2019 it was a Volvo V70. In 2019 I moved to the capital region and had no need for a car. However, as the pandemic destroyed my summer plans and I was right in my 30's crisis, I bought an old 850 and went for my vanished youth. I drove 20 000 kilometres around Finland and visited around 120 locations, 40 which I managed to access. In the end the gearbox failed and the poor Volvo was sold for scrap. Last summer I borrowed my friend's Volvo 960 and embarked on another tour. 150 locations, more than 60 entries. When summer ended, I returned the car. So most likely I'll be driving some sort of a Volvo between May and August. Between September and April I'll use public transport. I mostly explore during summertime. The rest of the year I edit photos, write blog posts and gather interesting locations for the next summer's road trips. I'd love to attach photos, but this platform doesn't make it very easy. Here's one of my old V70.
So if you ever come to Finland in summertime and find a Volvo on the roadside near an abandoned building, that's probably me ;)

Ha! It is! Like this:

Hah! Brilliant. I don't get the negative attention Corvairs bring, they're a great car. I have a few customers who own them. I like working on them, I like the way they look, I like the way they drive, and they make all of the right noises.

Electric Bike baby, quiet, small, affordable, fun. What better urbex vehicle than an e-bike? (Maybe a tank but I don't have access to a tank, unfortunately).

I currently drive a Subaru to within several miles of a location. I then ride my bicycle to the location itself and hide it in the brush or somewhere else at the site. It allows me to both go long distances and be stealthy at the actual site. Plus cycling is almost always a fun activity.
I will stop procrastinating tomorrow... |

yeah, when you're young and limber.

Posted by RuinedHuntsman What do you all drive to your explores? Is it a camper? 4x4? Van? Or do you have a street and trail? I recently got myself a van. Aside from the gas mileage and stigma attached to owning and daily driving one I've enjoyed it! Haven't even scratched the surface of what I'd like to do with it but that'll come in time. I thought it'd be cool to strap a street and trail to the back for the hard to reach places. https://i.imgur.com/9Fsg27q.jpg?1

Or me. Traded the FocuST for two V70s.
Escort's still alive and kicking as well. Had it repainted with the original color in late 2021.

Whoa, a great trade. Got to appreciate! ;) That Escort is just like the one my grandparents had back when I was a kid. Oh the nostalgy.

Got a new hog, a Wacco E6S electric bike that's approximately as muscular as my previous Daelim Besbi, but silent.
