Lower Area of Abandoned Mill Town

I have previously explored this town, and saw these buildings from up on the ridge. Always wondered how to get to them until a friend found out a few weeks ago. Here are pictures from this explore!

It was cold and snowy and icy. Started snowing as we left, thankfully, and it was a very nice day before the storm. These photos also want to upload upside down, so I am going to link directly to my Flickr album of this location. https://flic.kr/s/aHsmfoohgo

Battle Mountain isn't called that for nothing. Crazy steep. Not many people know of the Belden Mining District in Colorado. You can see this from the ghost town of Gilman, just look down. R.I.P Darwin's Ladder. Wish I could have seen the ladder before its removal due to it being very unsafe.

You got lucky! I was there a couple of years ago. We walked in along the tracks and had no problem. Last year, however, I read that the cops are patrolling and ticketing, no questions asked. This is my favorite place ever.

Have you explored any of the mining areas by cripple creek/victor Colorado? Theres alot of cool buildings around there. Theres an old smelting plant theres and nothing but the concrete is left, lots of cool structures.
