I'm just curious what other people have found in their adventures. The most interesting thing I've found is an old sword made in the late 1800s. My friend took pictures and looked it up online. We found out that it was a sword made for a member of the free masons back when they had honorary swords or something along those lines. It was only a ceremonial sword but it certainly was an amazing find.

A whole stack of 1950s or 60s nuclear science magazines in an office in a thread dye mill in South Carolina. A few years later a friend bought the whole mill complex and I was given permission to take them all, unfortunately, there was only 1 remaining undamaged issue by then. If I had any way of knowing that a friend was going to buy the place I would have rescued all of them, but all I took were pictures.
It now on display with a few vintage sci-fi magazines I've found at various thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets & antique malls.

I found a newspaper where the front page story was the moon landing. Found in a old RR Depot.

A Mitsubishi Eclipse, stripped of all identifying markings with the paint partially buffed off. Found in a dilapidated shed at an old quarry.
"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

-traditional Korean alcohols, including one North Korean "snake liquor" (oh god, that was already five years ago?!). Another time, partly in response to none of us having sampled the snake liquor, some of us were brave enough to try sipping an abandoned, sealed bottle of an alcoholic drink that tasted like cinnamon; I think we used that in a ritual sacrifice to Ninjalicious.
-a Buddhist temple where the sole monk occupant had probably died in hospital, leaving everything behind in state. Buddhist artifacts everywhere.
-the Nightmare Lab, which is basically an entire abandoned university campus, with one still-furnished room in one building, filled with animal specimens including one cat of which remains only the nervous system, brain, and eyes. That thing gave me nightmares. Not entered in the LDB because we keep even the city name a secret.
-one apartment, recently demolished, seemed to have belonged to a body paint artist who had left behind a significant portfolio of his art, ie nude pics of Korean and white girls covered in body paint. We had a heated discussion in a local forum about the ethics of sharing any of those pictures. Ultimately it was agreed there were plenty of pictures online, but it still wasn't our place to share them.

Probably a pair of tanning beds in an old health club. There were tens of thousands of dollars (when they worked, anyway) of exercise and spa equipment. Since documents found inside indicate the IRS was on this place for a couple of years, I'm surprised such assets weren't sold off. Then again, I don't know how these things are done.

A former convent I've visited a couple of times has buildings packed full of religious icons and vintage technology, including televisions, (valuable)classic radios, a sewing machine, oscilloscopes and even a Super 8 camera.
Also, a 100-year old pump organ and lots of other vintage furniture and decor in a Maine cottage.

Technically not exploring, but cleaning out the basement of my grandparents' house (so kind of exploring ;) ), we found a newspaper lining some drawers that indicated Jimi Hendrix had been found dead, cause to be determined.

A pair of radioactive watches. I actually live right near by one of the old radium watch factories, so it makes sense.

I don't really get the chance to explore abandoned locations, but the most interesting thing I have ever discovered is a recording studio in the midst of renovations on the top floor of 'Chateau Laurier' (a hotel in downtown Ottawa). I have always been interested in Pro Audio stuff and I found this studio really interesting. Pics:

I found an almost fully intact sea lion skeleton once! That was pretty cool

I am at work reading this and I actually laughed out loud at my desk and now everyone is looking at me and now everything is just really uncomfortable. Almost as uncomfortable as I imagine that squirrel was.
But this made my whole night so thank you!

At a certain power plant in the northeast, there was a room full of documents. These were logs on what happened in the power plant. These logs were from 1948 to 2009 when the plant closed. Every one of them was there.

Your story just jogged my memory a bit. About 20 years ago this band I knew was touring across Canada. One of their shows was in a Masonic temple, and they had a chance to wander around a bit. In the basement, it was claimed they found a skeleton in an open coffin, clutching a sword. After that, every bad thing that could happen on their tour happened to them.

In the basement, it was claimed they found a skeleton in an open coffin, clutching a sword. After that, every bad thing that could happen on their tour happened to them.

Virtually every lodge has those and most of the skeletons are resin fakes. Just part of the game.
