Wait wait wait wait... let me get this straight. You (a) consider anyone alt-right to be a neo-Nazi and (b) think it's a great idea to approach someone you know nothing about and use neo-Nazi terminology (stormer) while a cuck is a completely different group's verbiage.

That post is full of all kinds of fail.

How about the simpler rules of no politics during UE, and if it feels weird, get the fuck out of dodge? Politics aside, if someone skeeves you out on an explore, don't stay with them on the explore. Bail and go somewhere else, come back later, whatever.

Seriously, either my sarcasm meter is way out of calibration or you just gave some of the worst advice on this side of 'should I stick my dick in a blender.'

A) I consider alt-right to be a blanket movement that includes and sides with neo-nazis. One of my closest friends is a white nationalist who runs a prominent alt-right online group. He uses "stormer" to refer to out-of-the-closet neo-nazis, whereas most other alt-right people are to cowardly to openly admit it or genuinely don't understand their own movement.

And no, I didn't say it's a good idea to talk to a neo-nazi. My example was to use in case you find yourself surrounded by neo-nazis in an abandonment and need to talk your way out of the situation.

The thing about neo-nazis is their politics are intended to kill people. I wouldn't want one of them around on this site any more than I would want someone from ISIS here. We should exclude violent extremists first, then we can explore without thinking about politics.

Then you are sorely misinformed one way or another. Then again, what would I know as a minority, dating a minority, who isn't straight, and is alt-right, but (like the extreme % of 'alt-right' folks) think the Neo-Nazis need to shut up and go away?

The extreme amount of 'alt-right' people are folks that are disgusted with how the GOP doesn't represent the people as they used to. Instead, they are Democrat lite for the most part.

By your assumption, anyone that supported Bernie and his 'alt-left' and Antifa are violent genocidal communists. That's a broad brush, ain't it. Exact same logic though.

Additionally, per the USSC groups are allowed to say things like that so long as it isn't acted on. While they can get censored on a civil side, the .gov can't do a thing about it until they break the law by acting on it. Kinda the whole point about free speech and all. It's only free if it covers viewpoints you hate (and I firmly hate neo-nazis and communists) as well as those that you do agree with.

Fair enough. Generally following your gut, not being an idiot, etc are good rules to not get you into a situation that worrying about getting shivved.

Then again, in my case I'm not above judicial use of lethal force if needed, and legal where I am at the time. (then again, I'm pretty much always legal to carry a firearm when exploring as I don't trespass, etc)

The best advice can say, and this is coming from defensive training, is not to put yourself into a situation where you might have to defend yourself, or unassing the area as options present.

I also know an alt-right guy who is half-Korean, half-white, and very fucked up in the head, and he gets a lot of shit within the movement for his mixed race background.

The alt-right is a big tent, and they tried to make it bigger and more mainstream with their "Unite the Right" rally, but they still found themselves marching alongside neo-nazis. Richard Spencer, one of the main founders of alt-right, is a white nationalist who believes in "peaceful ethnic cleansing." Non-white alt-right members are useful for now, but basically you're wearing a brown shirt.

Anyway, if you find yourself surrounded by swastika-wearing neo-nazis in an abandoned place, dropping some alt-right terminology would probably make them less likely to harm you than if you were to, say, act afraid or try to punch one of them. Whether or not you know some alt-right people who hate neo-nazis, the neo-nazis see the alt-right as sympathisers and allies.

Yeah, I've seen plenty on the left cheering for both a soft and hard genocide on white folks as well. Both ends of the political spectrum have a section full of autistic retards that want to wipe the other side out. Neither side is good, tolerant, or peaceful by any means. The same brush that paints the right, paints the left as well.

My point was that assuming that someone is on either end of the political spectrum could be a horrible idea. It's not like I'd expect them to be carrying the flag around or anything, they do have lives and whatnot outside of being douchebags.

Now if you know for 100% certain, I'd treat it like running into a gang member. Don't act soft, don't act hard, only interact if/when needed, and bail. Otherwise is inviting trouble.

Based on current trends, you're just as likely to get stabbed by someone from Antifa as you are with a neo-nazi.

I can agree with most of that, and I think my original advice matches yours, even if we disagree on what the alt-right is. The problem with anti-racists is when they don't have an obvious neo-nazi target right in front of them, they go looking for it, which is why a lot of anti-racist movements get into anarchism and communism and expand their fight to capitalism or misogyny. Though these days most of the people opposing the alt-right and neo-nazis are not radicalised leftists.

I've had problems with anti-racists before, which usually results in drunken fistfights. Also being a white skinhead who used to be married to a Korean, I've received death threats from neo-nazis. By your own parlance, you probably think I'm cheering for a "soft genocide on white folks" just because if I ever have kids, they won't be the same colour as me. I've been accused of being anti-white for speaking out against the alt-right, which is bullshit: the alt-right killed a white woman in Charlottesville. Racial extremists do not speak for the white race.

Is it necessary for you to be an asshole to everyone you come across?

Nope, not everyone.

Urban exploration is about finding the hidden and forgotten places in the world around us- not pledging support to left or right wing ideologies. Let's not taint what we have with such divides.

Well said. This folks is what its all about.

This thread has strayed too far from UE into the realm of alt-politics so Im locking it. Feel free to join the politics private board (full members only) and continue the discussion.
