The sanatorium Hohentanneck is one of many nursing homes in the southern Harz mountains of Thuringia. As most of those institutions in that area did, it specialized on lung diseases. Built in the first decade of the 20th century in Fachwerk construction style, some annexes were added until the division of Germany after WW2. Located now in East Germany not far from the inner german border Hohentanneck lost on meaning and got nationalized in 1960.

Nice Video! This place certainly has that creep factor. Those stairs are really awesome. Love the lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling and the great view showcasing the rotting floors.
