Haha, no it's definitely a decoration. Someone moved it from the prop room for the theater upstairs into the basement. There's a few of them around the place. Thought it was real at first; there's lots of homeless guys crashing outside at night, so my first thought was someone overdosed or or something.

You mean the tags and bad attempts at humor? There's some cringe-inducing stuff thrown up in there recently. Thankfully quite a bit of it has been left alone, considering where it's located.

Oh yeah. Although, I did enjoy being scared by the first one I saw on the floor. I still say it's not so bad considering it's so accessible and attention drawing. Any rooms with the mural stuff were left alone besides the theater..

It used to be amazing and untouched by graffiti and vandalism. Astro and I were fortunate enough to see it in its heyday. It's being trashed these days. It's sad to even visit now.

Not to rain on your parade, but you didn't even get to see some of the prime I did. Though, admittedly, you got to see a much better gem than this.

Ah. You two, and many others, are lucky to have seen it sooner. The novelty of the place outweighs the cornball vandalism, for me. And I'll still say it's impressively intact given the sheer number of people who go inside there and the number of sprouts/college kids frequenting the area, blahblahblah. Still pretty amazing to see in person, accounting for everything.

I went there a couple years back and was o disappointed I barely took any photos, and even those I don't think I ever edited them.

U GUYZ IZ KRAZI. It's not THAT bad. Maybe you're all going to some killer Houston spots that I, a mere scrublord, haven't managed to find. I mean, I'd like to find interesting stuff, but then I'd most likely have to... try... And search for things that prove worthwhile... Then do things that produce... results.. in some measurable way and share with people who know what they're doing. But this place is pretty novel to me. I like the decay of something so gaudy and silly.

I think the only thing you did wrong her was to put this in "photography" which is about critiques, and not in the "South" section. I'd get a better phone or cheap DSLR otherwise. Ignore the negatives, keep exploring. We all start somewhere here on the journey, and it's about "doing". You're already beating all the people sitting at home.

Haha. True! I'm not sure why I did that...
Thanks for the encouragement!

Yes, please. I had initially planned to post it there, but for reasons unknown posted here.

I was pretty disappointed to see the state of this place considering I saw photos from when it was nice. I have yet to visit this place, I pass by it all the time and now feel like I need to go see it before some assmunch decides to burn it down!
