Here goes my first post...
Unfortunately, for this location I don't have any background as to how this apartment came to be vacant, however I plan to head back soon and talk to some of the locals, see if they can reveal a juicy narrative!
This past weekend, myself and a new found friend, Ben, met up to do some exploring in the west end of Toronto. After bouncing between abandoned factories and a couple rooftops, we eventually landed at an abandoned apartment complex, near the mouth of the humber river.
When Ben took me there, I was shocked! I only lived a few blocks away from this spot, however I never knew what lay behind it's walls!
We started in the basement, finding stacks of hay, clothes, books, and Toronto compost green bins. As we moved up to the second floors, everything got a little more wild. The graffiti was abundant, the smell got worse, and half the floor was actually torched. Despite the evident abuse this place has suffered, the remaining decor, such as the dining room set and bedrooms add to the spookiness of it all. Running my hands along dusty books, and pulling open drawers of children's clothes ran chills down my spin. Ben and I didn't venture far from each other, the thread of ghosts and possibly squatters was keeping us on edge.
Hopefully soon I'll have a backstory, as well as some proper photos to replace these crappy iphone wanna-be's!

Looks like an interesting spot. Night-time explore, or just so tightly boarded that no natural light can get in?

This part made me piss myself. So maybe squatters - they might be there. But those ghosts!!!

Judging by the graffiti, I'd be more worried about the satanists and nazis. Even worse, it might be satanic nazi ghosts.
Looks like a fun place to check out though.

Aha, glad I made you shiver! We went in the nighttime, during the day I'm sure you could grab some really cool photographs of the light pouring in through the windows!

Same here, I literally live a couple blocks away, always assumed it was just low income housing. Worth popping by, there is some gnarly stuff in there. Always shocked me that places like this could remain vacant for so long, when real estate prices are so huge in this city...

I'm shocked honestly. Especially with the lack of housing that is affordable in Toronto. You think somebody would want to attempt to tear it down and build condos or see if it's repairable.

I'm fairly sure that I went to go check this place out when I was living in Toronto, but there appeared to be someone working on the building.

I don't expect you to go into any detail, but the idea of an apartment, let alone abandoned near the "mouth of the Humber River" baffles me. I can't think of where it could be in the slightest! (Maybe I'm stupid)

I live right by / drive by this place to and from work everyday and there's definitely people that live in this one!
I've been there a few times when I wasn't alone in there and left immediately. Its a very weird setup there and some sketchy shit happens in the parking lot sometimes.
It's owned by people that do come every once and a while (I talked to the neighbours who HATE IT), BUT, they don't seem to give a shit / I bet they are hoping it just burns to the ground.
My guess is Its probably got zoning issues that state no digging/underground parking lot which means return on investment is low. Itll eventually get torn (like a couple others just like it minutes away), but for now it rests.
