Magma Mansion

This location is known to all of the locals, some of which we talked to and gave a brief history of the place and the story behind it, all of which could be found online. Going in broad daylight in the middle of labor day weekend may not have been such a good idea, as we saw and talked to some officials in the area afterwards, but made it in and out clean. 1.

A brief history & story on the place would be appreciated here too ya know...otherwise, all we see is some concrete walls filled with graffiti. Not very exciting or interesting without a story. Js

The brief history that I heard was that it is an unfinished house built by a man who helped build a well used safety device and became rich because of it. The rock was all imported from another state and construction was stopped for an unknown reason and it has laid untouched apart from graffiti for decades.

To keep this well known spot just a little more secrecy I left out some of the most google-able terms but I hope this covers it.

Construction was stopped because they found out that the property wasn't structurally sound when the house was mid-build. The half-built house burned down about a decade ago.

I was able to find out where this was by googling the title of this thread..however the place isn't really too well preserved from vandals so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. But some may disagree..

Cool spot. Reminds me a bit of this weird old cave house in Malibu I stumbled across years ago.

Wish I could find it again.

Nah, this place has been trampled through for a long time. Not much left to vandalize.

Pretty cool place. A surprising amount of people simply walking the streets near this structure made it sort of tough to navigate around the 'buildings'.

Walked by this place a couple days ago. The neighbors were so damn nosey... I didn't even go into the place and people were getting all butthurt. You'd think that such rich people would have better things to do with their time. I still enjoyed a pretty view from the road though, so it wasn't a total bust.
