If you explore in Madison, you've probably been here. Its clearly popular even in winter based on the amount of footprints leading to the entry point.
The mill from the back as you approach.
View from the roof looking at the ice rink.
Bunch of empty bins.
This room has no ceiling.
Creepy chair is creepy in red light.
Second floor room.
Some kind of old grainery machinery.
Large holes in the floors and roofs make night excursions interesting.
Old electrical panel.
I will. Preferably in the daytime for better pics.

Kudos to getting in. I think this may be the only building around with all the development happening in Madtown.

Be careful, regardless of the time of day. That place is structurally disintegrating. I've climbed the outside brick wall to the roof. I've climbed interior walls to higher floors. I've walked up the rickety stairs (what's left of them)and stepped out on the top roof, which my foot went through. Floors, roofs, staircases - they're all dangerous in that place. It's a neat little building though. Glad you had fun.

Yup. I know, my phone sucks. And obviously the dark doesnt help. Hopefully Matt will put up his pics; they're probably better than mine...I know he at least tried to take a couple panorama shots. We're going to go back in daylight sometime, but darkness felt safer.

Out back is a great place for a wintery fire!

I met a group of people there one night who do a bike ride once a month and end it back there with beers and a little fire. Cool folks.

Went back in the daylight. Truck pulled up and someone went in the little building next to the mill for a few minutes. No idea what still goes on in that place. We found a lot of areas we missed in the dark. Lots of fun climbing to do.
Walking up the bike path that goes right past it.
Electrical room
View from top of the electrical room.
From the top of that room, those pipes are accessible.
Which gets you here.
And those stairs lead to these ones.
This is from the roof.
Evidence of this places' popularity.
Looking out of the coolest room with the most graffiti that i dont have any pics of.
After the mill, we checked out a house a friend told us about.
On the way there was this car.
And this one.
Walking up to it from the back
From the inside.
Weird hole in the basement.

Well stated Try to avoid night time exploring unless it's perpetually dark inside in daylight. Reduced visibility kills. You need good light to help detect hazards. Predawning it is a safer option, then go hog wild when the sun is out.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |
