Abandoned stables at Hippodrome
< on 12/12/2016 4:39 AM >
Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
Just wanted to share a few photos I took awhile ago at the abandoned horse stables here in Montreal. Probably 3 years ago? I went back about a year ago, and the place is just as trashed as ever. Took some photos but can't find them. But here are the ones from 3 years ago.

If anyone would like to meet up and help this novice urban explorer and amateur photographer out, I'd be happy to explore with ya!

Used a Canon ae-1 to shoot these. For some reason the uploader on this site made the photos really grainy. For clearer pics, you can check them out here: https://www.flickr...otos/40490252@N03/

Yeah, the software behind this site is getting ancient and Av doesn't really maintain it anymore. Many people link their pics inline instead, using imgur or flickr or whatever your favourite hosting site is. Check this thread for some image posting tips, and welcome aboard.

No unfortunately Couldn't find any way to get in and saw a bunch of signs saying there were cameras everywhere. Are these your photos? They look amazing! Loving the colours.

Hi there, just saw your post. I know it's a bit old, but I'm looking for fellow explorers to meet as well. I'm going to be setting a day to go into the city and check out this place, hopefully it's still there, everything seems to be getting torn down fast and converted into condos. Let me know if you're interested. You can check out my YouTube channel as well, it's fairly new, but I'm totally into making this a full time hobby.

Just went last Sunday there. Don't go anywhere near the main building, there is 24 hour security there. The guy on watch saw me and kicked me out. Perhaps it had something to do with me waving at the cameras. LOL!

I did go to the sables though. Got bit of a fright when I saw some homeless man setting in one of the rooms on some make shift bed. He was very nice and filled me in on some of the history of the place. But he did mention to me that the place is due for demolition for low income housing. So if you want to check this place out, you better go soon. You can check out some photos I took thought this link. https://www.flickr...tos/156741903@N02/

I also did a video for my URB X TV channel, here is the link for that as well.

I will be going back to take more photos of the amazing Graffiti there before it's all gone.If anyone wants to join me let me ASAP.

The Aerial shot from 1991 looks amazing, but it don't look anything like that now, just for your knowledge.

The main building is where the most interesting stuff is, though.

I see that the photos were taken during the winter. Was there any cameras when you went? I got caught when I went there and from what I could see, there wasn't any place to get in.
