Obstructed Entrance

So I went to an abandon home and was a little disappointed that the entrance to the basement had clutter covering it. I would love to explore it but, should I move the scrap metal? Let it be? Move it and then put it back? It is the only entrance to the basement. If you want me to post a picture of the blockage let me know. It doesn't look like someone purposely put it there. It is just a small steel frame and what looks like a mini washer.

Seems you already made the choice. Would really go back just to see a house's basement?
There got to be better sites to splore than that

It may have been dumped there by some randomer.

It may also have been placed there by the open access point so someone watching over the property can tell if there is someone inside.

Myself and EsseXploreR faced this kind of thing last year at an abandoned mansion in NJ, someone had knocked through a bricked up doorway into the basement which was the only access point, and someone else had come along and tried to cover it with loose planks of wood, dirt, and a big tree stump pushed down the steps leading to it. We decided to remove what we needed to and chance it, then place the stuff back over the hole when we left, and it worked out fine.

Just weigh up whether it's worth the risk of potentially being caught.

Well I live close to it and when I go for hikes I go past it all the time. I want to see it but, before I decide to or not I want to hear other's opinion.

Personally, it looks like someone's low effort solution to cover up the door. As long as there aren't people nearby to hear the likely loud noises from moving it, I'd say go ahead and just put it back as you found it afterwards.

Recently, me and a bud were attempting to photograph the kid's tower at Seaview and everything was sealed except the main entrance 'round front. There were giant plywood boards leaning against it that at one time were nailed to the door frame but they were propped-up against the old doorway. What got me was there were only a couple of angled 2X4's propped up against them with a cinder block holding them steady.
At first I was like "Alright! Just let me rip this shit out of the way and we're in!"
Then I realized ANYONE seeing the boards, and more importantly, the 2X4's moved is going to know someone's inside and there were no other exits.
Even if the guard only went by a few times per day, he would know upon a glance that shit was happening, and I can't afford to step in any more shit these days.

Well this house is within a park. It is away from the trail but a lot of curious people will go up that way. It is far enough to were people would not hear the moving of it. So if I really want to get to it I guess I should do it on a week day when not many people are there. Or do like blackhawk said and do it on Halloween night . But, they might not be happy if I am in the park at night.

Daytime. Rainy days work well.
You should be able to tell if it's patrolled by the road or path going to it. Bring two good lights.
Be careful where you're stepping if you go in it... hellholes are real. Don't lean or put weight on anything attached to the walls or ceiling.
There maybe critters in there too. Nothing like a cornered raccoon or skunk to wake you up.

I noticed no vehicle tracks to the house. The kitchen has began to collapse a bit so I will be careful. My older brother will join me so if something goes wrong I will have help. Should I be afraid of any fumes within the basement? There is a hole for exhaust from a washer.

Unless there's standing water with decaying vegetation air quality shouldn't be an issue.

A floor or block wall collapse would be if it came down on you... disturb as little as possible.
When things collapse it happens fast.
Many times with no warning other than sagging floors, rotting wood or bowing/leaning cinder block walls beforehand. Take your time.

That there is a barrel made to contain materials affected with 2-4-5 Trioxin.

Pretty nasty stuff.

A knock off prop from Return of the Living Dead.
The ones in the film didn't have hoses and had a cover hatch. Mmmmm, the undead.
