Your shots are so well composed that it is a total joy to examine and appreciate them. I wish you posted 70! I think you should have included "Got Handle on Things" here as well... I don't know, maybe it is all the metal in that shot, but it reinforces the 'fortress'-ness.

Nice!

Did you do the tour last time?

I'll be going next week and I'm wondering how it compares to the tour I did in 2013.

I was pretty weary about the idea of doing legit/paid tours...until I did the tour at the Richard Olmstead Complex/Buffalo State Asylum last year - which was incredible!

What was your experience here, do they walk you all along in one big-ass group or are you taken around in small groups with your own guide?

Nice work

It was smallish (15?) groups with our own guide. There wasn't much opportunity to slip away from the group and they had and monitored a headcount.

I wish I would've had that many good shots but it was a bit of a challenge with no tripod and the group thing. We were already pushing it at most stops, waiting for people to clear out so we could shoot. Our tour guide must have loved us...

We were in groups of 20 with one guide. It was a fun tour, some of the history and anecdotes were really interesting. Of course, they dangle the hospital building but never take us there. Maybe they'll add that to the next round of tours they give?

I didn't do the tour in 2013 so I have no idea how this one compares but it was totally worth it.

We bought tickets a couple of months ago and were lucky to find 3 on a Friday.

They dangled that in the 2013 tours as well! I was hoping it would appear on this tour

Zen - you have to watch for the dates that the remainder of the tickets are released. On Friday the remaining 50% of the August dates were released, there were only a few options when I bought my tickets on Saturday morning. Check for fall dates and ticket release dates.

Nice shots! Fun day. Hot as hell. Horrible leg cramp. Excellent lunch and chat while learning about Pokemon GO LOL. I guess I need to check out my shots.
