What drives you to explore?

So I'm writing a paper for a class. Went with urban exploration as my subject because it was relevant to my interests and was an easy choice for the assigned subject.

Don't worry, it's not the kind of paper that would include any details, instruction, incriminating specifics, or anything of that matter. More about why i do what i do.

I do need outside references. Not scholarly articles, can be anything from personal references, interviews, articles, whatever. Just outside opinions beyond my own.

There's no better place to ask outside perspectives on the matter than here.

Really doesn't serve any good purpose to provide info for this as for as I can discern.
It's like asking 'Why do you like pussy?'
I guess it's the way it smells... abandonments that is

If decomp and stagnant water are what float your boat, i'm not gonna judge but a lot of places i've been don't smell that nice. Especially that time i found an industrial size sink in a basement just below a window that was full of rain water, and a dead raccoon who must have come in the window and drowned. Fairly recently...

Although, i do rather enjoy the toasty smell of burned out buildings. I probably should be making an effort not to breathe that though.

I can't help but to explore, it's in my blood. Ever Since the beginning of time, man has had a desire to explore the frontier and to learn more about his surroundings. Urban Exploration is my frontier.

Buy a ford explorer. Use your ford explorer to drive some explorers to explore an abandoned ford factory. That is if you can you afford a ford explorer to drive your explorers to explore ford.

The only Ford I would ever buy is the new GT or the classic Pantera. Enough about cars...don't want to hijack your thread.

I'm a curious person. Something fascinates me with the idea that the places I explore were frequented by other people and even an important part of some people's lives..and now it's empty and neglected. But I just like exploring; the woods, abandoned buildings, I just like walking around and discovering things.

Curiosity and the urge to see what remains left behind. I like the feeling of being able to step back in time so to speak with certain locations which have rich history.

Ever explored an abandoned sports bar?

I've yet to encounter any ladies who just happen to be in abandoned buildings.

Ever explored an abandoned sports bar?

As a matter of fact, YES! It was closed for six or seven years and still smelled like cigarettes, stale beer and puke. With mold added, of course.

I have, on numerous occasions. In the city, they're mostly crackheads but everywhere else, they were just other explorers.

My state (and many of the municipalities within it) has a real problem with demolishing historic buildings without public input or proper documentation. So I'm doing it for them.

Also, I have yet to find any other activity that makes me feel how exploring does. Its a wild mix of emotions. And good exercise too.

Its like my drug of choice. It cures my curiosity and helps me ESCAPE. When i explore I am so focused on seeing other places, other lives... that i can escape my problems, my pain.
