Finally got around to processing some photos from a month ago. Small town in West Texas. Given my employment situation (or lack thereof...), it may be a while before I get a chance to do much exploring so hopefully this isnt my swan song. Enjoy!1.

Nice shots! I know of the spot, but have never gotten that far west to see it yet. And although it is a nice find, I am saddened by the old skating rink falling into disrepair. I know it's not so much "cool" now, but think of all the summer romance that place has seen, the birthday parties, the couples skating to "Faithfully" by Journey, the show-offs who skated backwards ALL THE TIME. *ahem* Sorry about that roll down memory lane there. I have always wanted to salvage the floor from an old skate place for home use...there's a LOT of character in them. Well...when they aren't looking like the one above, that is.

There's a video store at the crossroads of the two main streets in town. The place was full of faded movie boxes for VCR's. I REALLY wanted to get into that one but given the location, and lack of nondestructive access, I could only look through the window and drool.

Spectacular find and photo set! I'm a sucker for those locations in which nature is reclaiming her territory. Probably the reason why 5 & 10 are my fav's.
Everyone has secrets. It's just a matter of finding out what they are. |

Thanks much! As far back as I can remember I always wondered what the earth would look like if every human being just disappeared. The show "Life After People" came out and I was elated! The whole nature reclaiming what we built really appeals to the existentialist in me. My favorite sites have lots of moss, fungus and vines. East Texas is the best place for that but obviously these pics were on the opposite side of the state. Oh well...you take what you can get!
