Hey All, I'm an explorer based in the Rust Belt who will be traveling (with 1 companion, also an explorer) to NOLA from 5/27 - 5/29. We're hoping to connect with somebody local who can show us a good time and maybe share places other than the obvious (i.e. - 6 Flags). Open to an "exchange" --- meaning we'd love to host you here in Saint Louis, MO as a way of returning the favor. We also have connections to folks in Kansas City, MO, NYC, and Minneapolis if STL isn't your thing. Message me if you'd like to hang out on the dates indicated in May, in NOLA. Thanks! -Romney

I have moved this thread to the south region, where it's more likely to be seen by people actually located in the NOLA area.

Thanks! I realized after I posted it I probably should've put it elsewhere in the forums. Appreciate your help.

My wife and I just visited NOLA a few weeks ago. Jazzland was the highlight but their are several several places around. There was a movie theatre up north where we were staying (I would have to lookup the exact place but we stayed at the Clarion on I-10.) We also wanted to check out Lindy Boggs and Charity but heavily guarded. I'm sure you already know that.

If you can get in to Charity, the guards won't follow. They will only call the cops and odds are even THEY won't go in. As far as them waiting for you to come OUT...

We figured that. There was still a NUMBER of places we did not see because we ran out of time. Katrina did a lot of damage that most has been rebuilt but there are still several places to see. You could spend weeks and still not see it all. But I'm sure being a resident you have seen a decent amount. In NOLA that is.

I'm coming to Nola on May 4th. Got a couple spots I wanna hit. Hit me up if anyone out there wants to meet up.

Have you been?

Tried to get in but the POE I found had a lot of homeless people hanging around. The guards kept their eyes on them CONSTANTLY. I left and came back over the course of 3 days and same thing. Finally I just walked over to the guards and asked about the place. They told me what I said above.

Then say that. Don't give people 'false' information. For all you know they can be bullshitting you.

When we went, it was at a dead end street that they blocked off for construction? Guard was posted up at the entrance. I talked to him a few times and even offered some hush money but no dice. Said his grand kids weren't worth what I offered.

Too bad I just had surgery, otherwise I would meet up with y'all. I'm out for the next month.

UPDATE: I made it not only into 6Flags, but also into the movie theater and Lindy Boggs! Here is my post about 6Flags: https://www.uer.ca...=1&threadid=122890 Haven't had a chance to sort through all the pics from Lindy yet. It was, overall, an amazing trip. Charity was totally sealed with both private security and NOLA cops all over it, unfortunately. Didn't have time for the power plant or the Plaza, but hopefully next trip. Thank you to all who offered advice and encouragement, whether in forums or PMs. Appreciate all of y'all.

It's being cleaned up right now, it's a university project at this point to clean it up.

I've been driving around and I noticed a thing or two. Just looks like a gigantic pain in the ass. I fear the time to explore this place may be about over... Anybody got pictures?
