Welcome to my island...a few rookie spots I've found

Whats up UER community! I'm pretty new to exploration, but figured I'd share a few spots I've checked out.

First up, a friend of mine told me about this place. It's a boat house situated by a mansion. The mansion is still in use, usually for wedding events. However the boat house seems forgotten for the most part save for some graffiti (note the cans of paint). The light was pretty cool considering half of the opening was sealed shut. There was also some sort of machine maybe used for lifting the boats onto a platform. The spiral staircase at the top provided access to the boathouse from the ceiling, though this POE was welded shut. In order for us to get into the boat house we had to take a quick dip into the below zero waters. A quick little trip but none the less kinda cool.

The second spot is a place that I'm sure some of you New Englanders recognize. This old monastery (or nunnery) has been gutted for years now, however I wanted to check it out before it was gone and I'd be kicking myself in the ass for not going sooner. Inside there wasn't much, a lot of graffiti (most of which was horrible). The most interesting part was the stain glass windows and stair case that provided a great view of the church hall where apparently an altar once was.

The 3rd spot is a house not far from the boat house. It appears that this place must have been burned. Not sure if it was a mill of some sort, but the gears and pulleys inside tell me it probably was. I had to jump a fence and sort of crouch, as there was what appeared to be a gated community right next to the building. You can gain access via the front door of the mill, however to avoid anyone spotting me I crawled through an opening in the basement. There is a POE to the first floor through the basement which is easy to climb through. The second floor was pretty sketch, but as I could see part of the floor joists exposed I did my best to walk across the creaky floorboards. Close by the property was what appeared to be the remnants of a stone bridge, which was overgrown with moss and lead to a small building by the river. The building by the river wasn't particularly interesting and is definitely a spot for local taggers. Another quick explore but once again, something I wanted to see before its gone.

Let me know what you think! Right now I've been using just my iPhone as I really don't have the skrilla for a new camera and lens. But as I get more experienced with exploring I hope to get some equipment.

Looks like some cool spots! A malt silo near me has the identical spiral staircase leading to the basement. I've always been a sucker for those. I have been doing all my urbex photography with my iPhone. you can actually take some really nice shots with it, assuming the lighting is good.
