Got any quotes to share that get you inspired to explore?
I've always loved: "I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” - Susan Sontag
...I was saying "Boo-urns." |
|
From other explorers: "I don't think we should do that,...but let's go!" - From the Undercity New York video " Life is pretty hard when you're fucking stupid." - A pissed off Canadian explorer in Detroit " Do you want to smoke drugs about it?" - A local explorer " It's probably fine." - The response of most explorers when asked a multitude of questions like : Did you hear that? Is the floor safe? Should we be worried? Should we run? That walkway looks bad, should we still try it?
"First rule of space travel, kids, is always answer distress beacons. 9 out of 10 times it's a ship full of dead bodies and free shit." |

Well these are both incredible. I can't decide which I love more.

"Rub a banana on it."
"When it rains, just find bigger drains." |

THIS. I say this all the time!

"It's a misdemeanor. No big deal" Me to my family all the time. "That door won't lock, everything's been drilled out" The voices in my head as I'm entering a prison....

"It's only illegal if you get caught." It's not exactly inspiring, but seems appropriate when people ask if I should be exploring certain places.

I thought I was referencing something, but I frequently say "Drink this and follow me." I guess it's sort of descended from "Hold my beer and watch this."
|
|
"Hey, what's that over there?"
I'm a "Leave only footprints, take only pornography" kind of guy, myself. |

"What's this button do?"

" This place is a death trap." " Did you tell him where the motion sensors are ?" "I left all my fucks at home. I should have maybe brought a few." " did you bring the beer?" " Is that the cops?" " Did you hear gun shots? " While waiting for food after exploring we heard this gem: " That motherfucker don't know me from a can of paint. Miscellaneous-ass N*gga."
"First rule of space travel, kids, is always answer distress beacons. 9 out of 10 times it's a ship full of dead bodies and free shit." |
|
"Fuck I left my tripod in the car" Usually after having climbed multiple fences already. "Did you hear that?!?!?!?" I learned to not take that one very seriously anymore.

Wish it was that way here. They are generally much less lenient in the states.

Certainly gets a little more frightening when you throw castle law into the mix. I applaud those that explore in those states because as much as I can appreciate the law itself, I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end.

Those laws vary and aren't in effect in all states. Even than they state the legal occupants need not retreat and can use deadly force in self-defense. It's by no means a license to kill in all situations.

I stand corrected, my understanding was that in some states, Florida comes to mind, your neighbour can shoot if they feel the people on their neighbours property are causing harm (and we all know that most don't take to lightly to strangers). Maybe its the over sensationalism you hear in some of the stories like the guy from Florida who shot his neighbour claiming he thought he was an alligator while claiming to do it under castle doctrine.
