With the start of 2016 and the knowledge that I turn 40 this year I am planning a special birthday trip. So far the plan is to take 2 vacation days on top of my 4 days off and drive to Sleeping Giant provincial park. The first day I will drive up to Lake Superior provincial and camp on the beach before finishing the drive to the Giant on day 2. Spending a couple days there to do some photography and to do the Top of The Giant hike before heading home via Pukasaw National Park for a night and then a long drive home

Sounds like fun! Don't really have any plans myself. We did spend the first day of the new year out riding quads which was fun and will hopefully be going on an off-roading trip the weekend after next and, of course, to Underground 2016. Beyond that though, no clue. I just hope the new year is full of new adventures.

My only plans thus far are getting a cabin at Lake Hope State Park in SE Ohio for the weekend with the kids and dogs. My wife is taking a trip to NYC with some friends, so we got a cabin. Planning on some hiking and exploring, and maybe some 4-wheeling.

Pretty much all the lakes in Ohio were created by damming up creeks. I've read a lot about this area and as far as I know, a town wasn't inundated by Lake Hope. I'll ask when we check in, though. There are a few ghost towns in the area, as well as two abandoned train tunnels:
