The payoff

These pics are from a spot in the Chicagoland area that's dear to me. I spent months and hours finding the location based on 2 pictures online. I had some potential sites, but there were fails. If you get frustrated and don't get replies to messages then hang in there. Push a little harder and think outside the abandoned box.

Comments are hit and miss here. I know your hurt.

There can also be the Catch 22 of that while adding history/location information can make a post more interesting, we aren't always supposed to name names and put all that out there.

Posts can generate more attention too when the photos are larger.
I would like to see a bigger version of #2. You framed it well and the peeling paint is great. Your explore doesn't have to be photography centered but visuals sell.

Congrats on a long scope of your location. That will always make it extra special to you. I recently got in a location that's hard to share about yet took 3yrs to find a way in to.

Comments and advice are appreciated. I'm still trying to figure out sizing (aside from the 100K limit). The pics that I really have liked are sparingly put on Flickr. Sort of sad that this forum isn't used more, but then again, who like to actually use more that 180 characters. HaHa.

Pretty much what skatchkins said. If you want responses, you need to make an interesting post :p

Pictures are nice, it would be nice to see more though to get a better idea of the building you actually explored.Or any information at all about the building that might be interesting or even more about your story on why it was such a struggle to find/enter it (since it seems like everyone and their grandma has been in there with a can of paint :p ).

Funny, I thought the story would be somewhat boring, especially since the location isn't being release.
Yes, I'd agree that many grandmothers have been there, but not in the past 5-7 years.

So you only post pictures for the fanfare?

Not, not for the fanfare. I wanted to share them and the fact that persistence sometimes pays off. I have been involved in Web 2.0 for over 12 years and while people often say they don't post pics or blog or Tweet the honest truth is that sometimes it's nice to get feedback and know that when you put yourself "out there" a connection is made.

I liked the pics, but I have a soft spot for spiral stairs...

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.
