I got permission to shoot an old factory (still processing pics) part of the deal they let me fly my Phantom 3 Pro in the factory. Music is a bit cheesy but it was really awesome to fly the drone inside the place. I shot this in 4k so watch as high def as you can.

Great video =) On the topic of exploring via drones, is there any law preventing someone from flying their drone in and around a privately owned building? It would be pretty cool to use one to explore somewhere that you normally wouldn't be able to get into. (You would not be on the property, just flying the drone on it from nearby)

Very nice! You're right, the music is cheesy but I loved the the perspective - much smoother than the typical Gopro type videos. With that being said, I have a Gopro and a basic drone with photo (not video) capability on my "wish list" for Christmas. I've never flown a drone so I figured I would get used to it for exterior shots before I shelled out the big bucks on a good one. Very unique perspective - good job!.

It can be done but in populated areas you have to be careful and wary or airports and other no fly zones.

mix of slight lens distortion and I started flying and filming before the gimbal fully calibrated. When i launched it wasn't quite level.

You also have to be aware of the local laws; in Canada, you have to remain lower than 300feet
Drones heavier than 20kg are classified as "unmanned aircrafts." Disregarding the gendered language, there are quite a few of specifications that depend on your model. If you're just using a little whirlygig with a GoPro, you should be safe. However, if you have a DJI Phantom or an octocopter (aka "The Lawnmower of the Sky") you need serious training and special certification because those things can literally kill people.
Regardless of whether you have a pro-drone or a little one, you're still legally-required to have at least $100,000 liability insurance.
There's a ton of confusing and conflicting legislation out there since the technology is moving faster than the regulation.
I'm planning on filming with a drone soon, so I've been doing a bunch of research -- I hope my input was helpful!

I watched this yesterday. It's good to see how smoothly you can do "air dolly" shots: you couldn't do that on foot. It really made me want to touch the remaining artefacts. Got me thinking that human exploration and drone exploration are distinct in the experiences they offer explorer and viewer. Thanks for posting
