I mostly have ham radios. And I am apparently a big fan of yaesu radios.. 1 yaesu VX-7R 6m/2m/220/440 handheld, opened up to freeband 1 yaesu VX-150 2m handheld, opened up to 120-160 MHz 1 yaesu FT-897D 160m/80m/60m/40m/30m/20m/17m/15m/12m/10m/6m/2m/440 portable, with internal batteries 1 Small Wonder SW+40 low power 40 meter CW portable 1 Old school Radio Shack 49.83 MHz FM walkie talkie, can probably be easily modded to work as a low power transceiver on 6 meters. Soon to be getting a kick ass Yaesu FT-8900 10m/6m/2m/440 mobile radio for my new truck. Also want to get an Elecraft KX-1 40m/30m/20m low power CW portable.

- Icom 2100h 2m mobile w/ 5/8wave whip on roof of jeep - Icom T22A 2m handheld w/ 1/4wave ducky (or J pole in attic or 1/4wave ground plane antenna in bedroom) The 2100 comes inside now and then to operate as a base station, but I don't have a very good power supply to drive it with yet. I'm looking for a less-expensive (not modern and fancy) 6m transciever for home use. SSB, CW, etc. would be very nice to have. If anyone can help me out, let me know.

I was wondering how long it would take for you to post in this board. Took you long enough, you've had your license for a little while now at least. Anyway, welcome to the board.

Heheh... it'd take me way too long to post the whole household inventory, but I'll try. First, the stuff I use myself. Kenwood TH-77A (dual band) Icom IC-229H Kyokuto Denshi 2m mobile (144sx/rII or something?) Icom IC-U16 (REALLY nice brick of an old commercial field programmable UHF handheld, 16ch) Kenwood TH-D7A (paperweight, until I get new battery packs -- I think this is one of the best ham HTs, but has the WORST battery system I have had the pathetic misfortune to encounter -- the battery latch falls off if you're not careful, and even the Kenwood AA pack sucks!) Kenwood TS-50 Icom IC-R3 (... this receiver is clearly what happens when Japanese electronic engineers get really bored one day at the office.) Kenwood TR-9000, 2m all mode And now, the rest of the family's collection ... Icom IC-2100H Kenwood TM-D700A Icom IC-716 (I think). HF. A couple of Icom IC-W32A's Kenwood TH-D7A/G Kenwood TH-79? Radio Shack HTs, the newer single-band models. Two RS dual band HTs, both long since DEAD! Some random FRS radios... handheld and Radio Shack's weird magmount mobile FRS unit. The radio's actually in the antenna base! Radio Shack BTX-127's (unknown number thereof) Radio Shack 2-channel VHF mobiles (both of these set to use MURS frequencies) Motorola Spirit GT (the classiest of our bunch of MURS-capable gear) Some unknown and excessive number of old scanners ... I challenge anyone to beat me on sheer number of radios. Or is that even wise?
Mmmm... the sweet smell of damp concrete. <3 |
