Nestled in a cul-de-sac of an exclusive Los Feliz neighborhood, looms Glendower Place. Seems everyone knows the story...December 6th 1959, Dr. Harold Perelson bludgeoned his wife, attempted to murder his oldest daughter, committed suicide in the foyer of his glorious mansion, and then time stood still, literally, for the next 56 years. On a nightstand next to his bed, investigators found an open copy of Dante's "Divine Comedy," which was opened to Canto 1. (Supposedly the good doctor continued his chapter before tossing back an acid nightcap in the foyer). What happened next is mostly based on speculation so I will let the stories speak for themselves. Some say the doctor left his house to the Enriquez family, others say they bought the mansion in probate. Either way, no one has lived in the Glendower house including the Enriquez's son Rudolph (current owner per tax records). Some even say a new family moved in then fled during the night on the anniversary of the Perelson murder, leaving everything behind.
Last Sunday I met up with FlashyFashionFraud and after a night of bowling we decided on an impromptu visit to the Murder Mansion. It was late and not knowing if the place was alarmed (it was), I decided to go back the following afternoon to check for power, wireless transmitter etc. I brought a friend (this was his first Urbex experience, popped his cherry on the Los Feliz murder mansion, go figure lol) and we managed to find a POE. Later, we picked up Flashy and headed back. We all sat in silence waiting for sunrise, huddled together in the basement, soaking it all in. Flashy and I realized the enormousness of the timing and the finality of this visit. This was HUGE for me, I first heard about the "Murder Mansion" from CR400 and have been enraptured ever since. Every time we go to SoCal, a visit to Glendower Place is in order. I have walked around the perimeter countless times. The difference this time was the fact that Rudolph Enriquez died last June (at the age of 83). This was a "Now or Never" situation. We stayed for hours....sifting through the remnants of this famous landmark, forgetting our anxiety, forgetting EVERYTHING. I couldn't even focus on taking photos I was so absorbed. Now that Rudolph Enriquez is gone the fate of Glendower is unknown.

Wow....I'm speechless but have so many questions. 1. The blanket in photo 3 - is that blood? 2. The murder happened in 1959 but there were a number of items (newspapers, checks etc.) that were more recent. Any thoughts? 3. Are there more pics from either you or your friends? I'm engrossed! Amazing job on getting this extremely rare opportunity! Rated 100 out of 10 stars!

Thank you....the sheet definitely had blood stains on it When Rudolph took possession of the mansion he used it as a storage facility. It's easily worth 4million but he turned down all offers to sell. That explains all the mags and newspapers from the 60's on. Flashy will post her pics and I have a ton more but still out of town

Way too cool. I wuv the place! Hell yeah! That's one house worth exploring... I rarely say that. In pic 9 what is that thing above the light switches? Is that a variable transformer;a light dimmer?

If you thought bonnie and I weren't crazy enough to put on dead people's clothes and play dress up/pretend running around the mansion then you don't know us well enough.

Excellent job my friends!! I know many LA folk, myself included, have been patiently waiting to see inside the infamous "murder mansion". A truly legendary explore! And Bonnie, you've been talking about this place ever since we first met! I knew you'd eventually find your way in. It sure is an accomplishment being the first. 20 bucks to whoever pokes the dusty tortoise

Bravo guys, this is a fantastic explore! Can't wait to see the other photos!

Amazing stuff B&C and Flashy! Great pics and writeup! Kinda disturbing that it's basically been kept in arrested decay. This being California most locations like this such as the OJ Simpson and Sharon Tate Houses have passed through multiple owners and have been extensively remodeled to remove all references to the past crime. Makes you wonder about the reasoning and psychology of the owners.
