I went into an abandoned mill and found buckets full of human waste, as well as the floor covered in about 5 inches all around of pigeon droppings. Call me what you want, but I didn't bring a mask. Should I be worried?

Actually if you didnt come into physical contact with it you're probably ok. Inhalation may be an issue (especially with avian feces) but its relatively rare and the odds of you getting sick are slim. Here's an interesting article on various "poo's" and their effects:

Been there, close to being hospitalized.
Sick for 5 weeks. Fever, swollen lymph nodes throughout my upper body and felt like dog meat.
A mask is needed.
I wouldn't even go in... no joke.

Most of the places I explore have at least some bird droppings, and most have a good covering on the floor. It makes climbing interesting. This one was in an old grain elevator. A huge mound of pigeon shit on the ground and a poster saying "avoid plug ups" on the wall above it. I love irony
