Last night I went on an adventure. The place was pristine for the most part, which makes sense. It was only abandoned a few years ago and it was locked up like a safe, our POE was about as convoluted as they come (though I'm sure plenty of people here have done crazier). This was the most hardcore location I had ever been to, and it was especially amazing because I couldn't find any internal pictures anywhere on the internet. We may have been one of the first groups to get in since it shut down, and with demolition being planned, we may be one of the last.

Amazing to think that the place may be demolished when some of those photos would make a person think it was only abandoned a day or two ago! Thanks for sharing. Great pics!

Thanks! I found it hard to believe how much very expensive looking equipment was being left behind.

It looks like much of that stuff is still operational. Time to get a free MRI! Who doesn't want an MRI? Great stuff, thanks for sharing.

Good find, it's rare to get one in such good condition. After a couple years usually theres at least some water damage on higher floors. Enjoy it now before its gone!

What a cool spot. I feel like a place in this state of (non)decay would be even more eerie to explore than a heavily decayed place, it's almost too perfect . Nice photos too!

"This some Walking Dead type shit." -An Articulate Explorer Totally agree though, except for the fact that the recent abandonment meant that most of the lights were still on, and if they weren't it would have been terrifying, especially in the utility tunnels. Still super eerie. Thanks!

Wow, that's incredible. I have a thing for abandoned hospitals, but I love pristine abandoned hospitals. Could you give us any hint as to where this might be located by?
|
|
If you look at my profile information you can see that I'm generally located in Indiana, but that's about as specific as I'll get, sorry!

Your group wasn't the first to get in to that place. Some fellas I know and myself have done it a few times over the last couple years. I just don't take pictures worth posting or have very much of an internet presence. Anyway, we kinda stopped last year after they put a security partol on site, that must have changed.

Is this the one with the heat on super high?
"When it rains, just find bigger drains." |
|
The heat was on when we were in there, but it was pretty comfortable. And we didn't see any security patrols, although I had seen an article online that mentioned one. There were two cars parked outside with super tinted windows, but upon closer inspection they were both empty, and they didn't look like the kind of cars one would use for a patrol anyway.
|
|
Yeah, anytime I was there the heat was blastin'. I also thought that the security was in an office up front, but I never investigated it up close.
|
|
It's possible, we tried to avoid that area of the hospital, figuring that may be the case, as that's where the car was parked.

It's always interesting to see what gets left behind when a place gets abandoned. This place is so clean, and most of the stuff still in great shape, it's kinda surprising to just see it left there.

To be fair, it looks like that MRI has been removed and it's just the outer casing that got left behind. But some of the other equipment in those photos is still super expensive. Some of those rolling carts can fetch about $500 apiece. Hope someone has the presence of mind to rummage through and do some salvage before the place gets ripped down.

Yeah, because stripping abandoned locations is in the spirit of UE...

I don't think he meant someone on here should go scrap the place. The word he used was "salvage," which brings to mind salvage auctions. Basically he probably meant that someone who can use some of the more expensive and specialized equipment should come and do so.

There's not been a salvage (or any other kind of) auction at this site. Closed their doors and nobody's been invited in since. I wouldn't recommend it to your scrapper friends. Side note, I service medical instruments at the other hospital that this network owns, one day talking to the maintenance guys, they said that the sprinklers freeze break all the time, they are there all the time during the cold part of the year. Look like an overweight facilities guy and you have an in I suppose....
