Summary of privacy of content in UER
< on 8/21/2015 10:08 PM >
Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
I've found that UER's privacy arrangements confuse some people. So I've put together a chart that summarizes who can see content in the forums and database.

Please keep in mind:
* By default, full members create private posts (where they're supported). If a full member wants to make a public post, he/she has to change its access to "Public."
* You can click the "random UE photo" that appears on the entry page to jump to the corresponding LDB gallery photo. But, if you're not a full member and the gallery belongs to a private LDB entry, you won't be able to see that LDB entry or its gallery.
* Moderators have additional privileges (obviously). Click the Privacy button in the left sidebar to see the privacy policies under which moderators work.

If I've goofed up any part of this reference, please let me know and I'll fix it. Thanks!

Nicely done.

Nice to see the new moderators being active and doing things other than ban people

Can you not create a public thread in other? I thought you could - it's just read-only for basic members. I may be wrong.

Anyway, this is cool, thanks for making it!

Thanks DJ. Looks like I can't make an existing Other thread public.

Happy to see this! There has been a little confusion in the South recently. Thanks for making it a visual.

So, you admit that banning people is useful?

Actually I've never banned anybody. I just annoy them until they lash out, and then some other mod bans them.
