Reviving the gothic

This beautiful creature is sticking with me like glue since I left last weekend. Built between 1865-1880, roughly 5,000 square feet, and packed to the gills with everything you can imagine. 100 degree heat, mosquitoes from the pools collecting leaking rain water, and that smell of old/lived in house. Can't beat that!

Great find and photos. The flowers in a few of the shots puzzle me. Were they fake? Did you add them? If they were real and you didn't add them, be careful if you return.

They were fake with the exception of the cotton, everything you see is exactly as I found it. I do know a squatter was staying there since the owner left them a note. Somehow I didn't originally add that to my Flickr so here it is: "Attention! Please leave and don't stay here anymore - I don't want you to get in trouble - The police know you are staying here and will be looking for you - If you need help please leave me a note - Owner"

Thanks Battleground, it really was. Whoever the squatter was it seems as though they left things untouched and slept on one of the sofas.

What an awesome house! Love the porch & The furniture, the curtains, the pillows on the couch and beds, vases on the mantle. All of these things were MOST intriguing and made for quite a VERY nice set of photos, Thanks!
