No back story behind this set- I wish I had one.... I first saw it a few years ago but the brand new windows with new window stickers told me it was not "on the market"... I was wrong... 1 \ 2

Thanks 2X! I don't see you around these parts much. If you are ever in the area, let me know!

I'm surprised that TV tube isn't bashed in already. That wallpaper is also vintage kitsch.

There are signs of kids/vandals... but I think the area it is in has its back. I was surprised that we did not have company (if you know what i mean) during our visit.

Cdevon...You said you didn't have any history on this place...Thats a shame. I found this place quite interesting. The checks are for 5 dollars and it says GardenWay Motel 1959. Was this a home or a motel? Its a lovely place and must of been quite up-to-do at one time. That photo of the toddler really gets to me. Enjoyed your photos very much

Wow, that's amazing! It's an inspiration to see that places like this do exist. It's what keeps me interested when I'm tired of running into smashed, wasted locations. Thanks for giving us a look.

this was a home, it is odd that they were writing checks to a small road side motel on old rt. 66. (it is a few miles away) I can only imagine the parties that this (hardly modest) ranch hosted in its hay day.

It looks to me like the checks were investment dividends from the hotel to one of its shareholders or something like that. I wonder if Mrs. Roland Woods might have been one of the property owners long ago.

Thanks very much for the motel photo. I haven't seen a roadside motel like this in years. Thats cool! Yes, that house looks like quite the party house! And maybe tunnel runner had the right idea about the checks.
