This is another spot that I have known about forever but never got around to shooting. I finally stopped by and looked around! The county tried to get the owner to demolish the place but they didn't want to pay for asbestos removal. This was a somewhat cold day, even though our snow was gone.. I happened to have one battery dead when I showed up, and then the other was flashing after exploring the main building so we packed up and left after grabbing a few shots of the smaller addition.
Almost all the locals know this place as it's on a relatively busy highway. When I was there the property was outlined in t-posts, then this week they put up what looked to be a temporary fence. (I kinda wanna tone down the HDR here.. but I'm kinda lazy...)

As soon as we came through the POE, this is the first thing we saw.

I'm pretty sure this room has a case of the blues.

This room must of been a younger grade judging by the alphabet on the wall.

I think somebody dropped the soap

Weird how the doors just go up in the ceiling.. Kinda cool!

Makes sense to have a pile of bikes on the 3rd floor..

Made it too the roof! Notice the ladder was rotted out of the wood.

After the roof we headed all the way to the basement.

I found the gym, well what was the gym.

Here is the last shot I got before the camera died. This part of the building caught fire a few years ago.

There was a for sale sign in front of it for a while.
Shortly after the for sale sign went away, the gate and t-posts went in.
As bad a shape as the Luther school is in, there are others that are in FAR worse shape.

I think the HDR is just a bit intense on a couple for my taste. That being said, that's a fantastic location and you've got some great shots. I really like 7, 8, 10, and 13.

Yea, I noticed the sign went away and the gate was new when I was there. It'll be intereting to see wheter the building continues to sit or if it's torn down and something else is put up there.
Also I was just at the Bagley school yesterday, the place is looking really rough!

I try to stay away from the real intense HDR (like 1), For some reason I've always really liked the crisp look but I get where you are coming from. I liked 13, I wish I would of had more time to get a some other shots in that area, If I remember I'll grab a few other shots there when I go back to reshoot the gym since my speedlight's batteries died..

I'm so glad I got in when I did... They started demolition of this building Friday and there only about 1/4 of it left now..
