Abandoned Mo Hospital

This huge hospital is pretty trashed and half of it, still connected directly to the abandoned buildings, has been converted into condos. Looks like there was a meth lab, and at one point I heard someone else was walking around in the dark with me (I was exploring alone), but mostly it was quiet and dark. For some reason, there was several large porn collections in various rooms... so yeah...

More interesting, there was tons of equipment, X-ray machines, optometry machines, even an unused bottle of lidocaine.

It seems like they just up and left the place one day, seeing as they left all that equipment and information, not to mention the hypodermic needles laying around. It'd be cool to find out more about this place.

thanks for giving it a try

Could you message me and tell me which hospital this is? My mom grew up in the Kansas City area and my grandmother died in a hospital there, so I'm curious.

There is also an abandoned hospital a few blocks from my home. I went in there in 2008 and was shocked to find not just X ray equipment, copiers, tissue samples, hypodermics and unopened medical supplies but also patient records complete w/ social security numbers and 'private' medical histories! As of last Summer it was still open to trespass although w/ all the windows being boarded up there is absolutely no light beyond the first few feet of the entrance. Also, the amount of debris on the floor made it too dangerous to re-explore even w/ a flashlight.
A friend of mine had an interesting theory when a few of us went through an abandoned school some years ago. There were unopened books, computers, copiers and even pairs of shoes that presumably belonged to the students left behind at that location. My friend's idea was that some of these places probably were never intended to be abandoned but rather were closed down for what was supposed to be only a very brief period of time. By the time everyone realized the money was never coming through, the vagrants and scrappers had ruined the place beyond any reasonable cost of repair.
So yes, you are absolutely right, Nyctophilia. The impression w/ some of these buildings is that the owner showed up, told everyone, "Grab only what you can fit in your pockets and leave in the next 30 seconds!"

The hints are all there in the pictures. Should be pretty easy to find. You can see what town, and state its in, and even the name of the condo project.
