Amusement Park

The other weekend I took a trip to a really cool place nearby. Although a lot of the park has been removed, the bit that remains is really neat.

The park was originally opened about 60 years ago and was one of the first in the nation. A lot of what's still there had broken or caved in, but it was still a neat find and definitely worth going back to explore a little more.

Not a pro photographer but thought I should share the pictures I took (:

Interesting, I never bother going cause I thought they leveled all stuff that was remaining (and the sign with the dragon is gone, right?).

Could have swore I saw photos of construction crews behind that center leveling off all that land.

Most of what's there is gone. The original entrance is still there with the castle and all but almost all of the original rides and structures have been removed and put in a nearby petting zoo or something like that.

There's still the big castle and a few other things back behind the construction site though - it's not a lot but interesting to take a look around in what's still there.

This all looks pretty much exactly the same as when I went over a year ago. At that time, the land had been cleared between the old park entrance (the castle with the dragon) and what you can see here, and there was all sorts of construction equipment behind the fence. I assumed they were going to just keep going and clear everything else, too, but evidently not.

Yeh, I thought that was the plan, and why I never went after you did. Just assumed it was all gone.

Nice photos!

I've looked into this location but heard that there wasn't much left.
Your pictures seem to disprove that theory, might be time to plan an expedition of my own!

Did you encounter any security issues???
