Anyone ever experience anything like this? I mean, I am used to seeing fish in a drain but there were so many that we could not avoid stepping on them... even shuffling our feet! http://vimeo.com/113687783

I love that you could just pick them up. That's an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing this. Maybe they were spawning?

No idea, unless like Freeside said, maybe a spawn. If not that, I have no clue.

How has the weather been? Is it possible they somehow got washed into there from another location and are trapped?

I have been in a few drains that had a leveled out outlet that connected to a main waterway, possibly like the one you were in. After walking about 100m from the outlet deeper into the drain we had amassed quite a few fish in front of us much like what was in your video. Not sure why they were in the drain to begin with but our walking seemed to have scarred them deeper and deeper until the water shallowed out and they had nowhere left to swim. I sure wasn't about to stick my hand in a grab one though- I thought they might be some sort of mutants, haha.
