This weekend I got to check out my first big solo urbex explore. It was an abandoned middle school I knew about but hadn't been near in years. I scoped it out at night with my sister and found a POE on the side, door wasn't locked or anything. I ended up heading back the next day in the afternoon by myself and checked out the whole place. It was so damn exciting and chilling. It has been closed since the early 90's and I don't think much has been done since with it at all. Although Someone apparently mows the lawn.

Good stuff. Did the place still have power? It looks like the fridge light was on. And that car...I wonder why that is sitting in there.

I actually didn't try all the lights but your right, it must have had some power since the fridge light worked. Wow. Yah lights would have helped in some of those hard to see rooms. The car was in the only area I didn't explore too close, it didn't help the leaves were outside blowing around and making it sound like a person was walking up to the building. :/

Cool set man! Nice tour of the inside. And augh, windy days are the worst for exploring for that reason. So much noise.

I decided I am going back with my sister sometime in the next few months and attempting the roof and basement. I would assume all schools have basements.

Man I've been in buildings that closed THIS YEAR that dont look THAT good. Closed early 90s, that's incredible.

The pair of roaming toilets were a nice find. The dirty window view too.

I returned to the school with more photos to share. http://s1380.photo...-%20%202nd%20visit I couldn't find a basement and I tried more lights this time, some worked some didn't. The hallway ones slowly flickered on with a lot of noise...was pretty spooky. I checked out that car closer, it's in rough shape. I also climbed the ladder and peaked at the roof. There were a bunch of random middle-school kids on the front steps of the building when we pulled up and I was pretty paranoid about them but my sister (who came along on this one) kept re-assuring me they were not a threat.

Gotsta watch out for them middle-schoolers! Heh. Or maybe they were ghosts from when the school was active.

haha, we were actually thinking it would be funny if they saw us go past the window and were all, "holy shit guys that place really is haunted!, lets get outta here!"

Bumping this thread to add another story. A group recently when here after dark....not a good choice IMO but they did, had some interestingly large bats fly at them and supposedly found "a rope from a hanging", local urban legends i'm sure but I'll check it out next time. Place is possibly for sale....

I've seen this/been here! I was driving through and came across it, and stopped to check it out. It looked pretty easy to get into, but I was there in the middle of the day and it's a personal rule of mine to never explore alone (scouting only), and now I can't for the life of me remember what city is was in... Oh man, looks great - I'm super jealous.

Great shots. I'm hoping that school (once I find one) will be my next adventure.
