This is a cool little spot out in New Hampshire, People actually jump off the top of the pumpkin seed bridge into the swift river below, INSANE!

this is a link to a great story about a guy who bought the old turbine and his story of removing it from such a remote location

I also added 23 pictures and an entry to the UEDB here

Very cool story in the link! I had no idea that old turbine and other hydro parts like that were valuable enough that people would go to that length to remove them and sell them for reuse.

I was actually there when they pulled those turbines out. It was a lot of work, they were quiet/coy about it at the time, didn't admit what they were doing, I think they may have not had full permissions to be doing it the way they were and/or the ownership may have been questionable. The turbines were worth quite a lot, even in the condition they were in. They used thermite lances to cut through 1-2" thick cast iron or steel plate, to extract turbines. It took them many days to do so.

It's a cool place, has gotten way too popular and tagged/etc., in recent years. I grew up around there, we swam there all the time. I have pics of kids jumping from the top of that bridge. it is insane. at least 130 ft to the water, maybe more. Just getting out on that bridge is a pant-shitter. There's insane current at the falls so don't play in the water there if you don't know what you are doing. People have been swept away and died, several times.

There's a few lower chambers not shown in the pics, at least 4 lower levels that are pretty easily accessible, starting by going through the area in #10 pic. One area is really only easily accessible from the water side, below the falls. It was a more photogenic area before they put up all the fencing, which is in poor repair anyway.

I take a drive up there every summer and pack a lunch and try to spend half the day there. It's a real beautiful spot. Great photos! I have been trying to go and take some photos there in the fall but never seem to find the time :/
