Back in 1990-1991, James Strath Public School was under construction in Peterborough's ever expanding West end. During that winter, the shell of the school was left open to the elements, and was the preferred hangout spot for myself and a friend/partner in crime. Snow fell into the concrete shell and settled on the floor in the long hallways lined with coloured lockers. We hung out there in the evenings smoking hash and drinking Southern Comfort. These are treasured memories. The following year my younger brother was in the school's first graduating class. This summer, construction is under way once again at James Strath: the addition of two new kindergarten classrooms to accommodate the new Full Day Kindergarten initiative. Yesterday, armed only with my iPhone, I stopped by to relive some old memories and explore the James Strath construction site once more.

The kid who coloured the train drawing in the top left (in photo 14) gets an F for effort/creativity. Someone's gonna go to university and become an actuary for an insurance company! (And make approximately 3000% more than I will ever make.)
