First attempt.

Maybe it's not worth posting, but it's my first attempt at a video and I was itching to contribute something, so here goes.

Info:

The facility (a much larger place than what's shown) served as a mental health facility until its closing in the 1990s. First building is an isolation ward, pretty small and not a ton to see, but creepier than the rest, for sure. The second was originally a medical building, but was later converted into a general patient ward. Both were built in the 1920s for veterans of the Spanish American War and WWI.

Things I want to address before others do:

A. The explore of the first building is way more chatty than I'd have liked. If you don't like that kind of thing either, I'd skip to the second building at 5:38.

B. I too was extremely irritated by N's use of the flashlight in a perfectly well-lit building. Upon re-watching, I'm even more annoyed.

I really wish I could have showed more of the second building. There's a lot more to see, but we had to skedaddle. I really hope to go back soon for a full-length walkthrough.

Speed it up and put Benny Hill music over it.

That's all I've got sorry.

Hmm… feels like it needs more focus. 10 minutes of a walkthrough won't really do it for a lot of people (besides a handful that might be too afraid to go in these places themselves), but it needs some structure to it.

That could be as simple as cutting it down to some music with some of your nicer shots, or adding a narration with some old pictures, or narration of your adventure might make it more interesting. But most of what I saw (admittedly skipping through large parts after a minute or two) were rather empty buildings.

Just some thoughts. But like I said, if you are going for more of a walkthrough feel, it needs something else to it. Maybe a narration from you guys of what you found, or getting there, or whatever.

For this, I was going for more of a "document everything" deal, but I guess I should have known you guys would want something with more purpose. More for my friends and I than anything.

A narration could work. This place has a history, which we know a lot about. I'd still do it as a walkthrough, but I definitely have some ideas on how to do it with more style. For something like that I'd want it to be much steadier though, so I'd have to go back (not complaining.) If my primary camera hadn't been acting up (this place screws with electronics, I swear), I could probably just edit what I had.

I appreciate the criticism. I WILL be going back there, and this time I'll do it with you guys in mind.

P.S. Since you were skipping around, I urge you to go to 10:26 if you didn't see that part. Just after is the one shot I really like =)

Definitely worth posting, and hi From 9:13 it has the light and interest to catch my attention. Before then, you needn't show us so many similar stripped destroyed rooms. Just give us enough of them to get the sense that we are lost in a large space. Just my opinion.
