Abandoned Phosphate Mine

So arsytee and I went on another adventure. This time to an abandoned phosphate mine. Because this place isn't well known, we don't really have much information about it. We believe it was closed down in 2001 and has been inactive ever since. Also, because it is not well known, almost everything is as it was left with pretty much no graffiti.

There was a lot of rusty stairs and walkways that were pretty scary to climb, but we made sure they were stable before attempting. Once again, we have filmed more videos! We will be putting together two, a cinematic video and an exploration video, because this time we didn't lose our GoPro. Yay.

I'll be sure to post the videos when they are ready. In the mean time, here are some of my pictures.

I like the dark skies in the 5th pic, and the golden view in the last.

Thanks! We were caught in a pretty bad storm while there so the sky got pretty interesting. This was also one of our latest explores. We made sure to get out of there before the sunset completely. Being stuck there in the dark wouldn't be the best thing.

I was with btpp and figured I'd post my pictures in this thread rather than starting a new one.

My favorite pic of the trip.

Thanks for all the compliments! We definitely had fun there, just a bit nerve-racking going on those old, rusty, walkways.

We finished a cinematic video!

We are working on that exploration video right now!

Damn fine photo set! Numbers 3-5 are fantastic. Number 4 captured the depth well and was a great use of black and white.
