Anyone in Milwaukee?

Hey Everyone,

I'm kind of new to this urban exploration thing but I have an interest in history and photography and have enjoyed exploring Milwaukee over the past couple months. I was looking to meet new people who live near me here in Milwaukee who can help me find new abandoned places and join me in exploring. Hope to hear from some of you soon. :)

Hey, you're that guy from craigslist. I'm the one that e-mailed you. Welcome! Relik is WI and he's been trying to connect with some Wisconsin explorers. I'm from Waukegan but explore in Wisconsin on occasion. Not really sure who else is in the area that's active here though. You should post some more photos, show us what you've been up to in WI.

Hey! Cool! It's nice to see another person from Wisconsin. Although I've been exploring things for quite a while, I'm also new to this here UER community. Unfortunately, however, I just moved away from Milwaukee about a month ago. I would have totally been down to meet up with you. I know a bunch of cool spots in and around Milwaukee. Check out my posts in the Great Lakes Forum for some ideas. I am still only an hour from MKE though. Stick around a while, share some pictures, establish yourself, and show that you're cool. I'm sure I'll be exploring in your neck of the woods again before too long and I'd love to know more cool people to come along.

I don't know many folks on here yet but it seems like there are a couple active people in Wisconsin. I met up with Relik a few weeks ago and he's a super rad guy. He's real fun to be around, very hospitable, and has a ton of UE knowledge. He basically seems to be the unofficial representative of Wisconsin here on the UER.

Once I know you're cool shit, which I think you are so far, I'd be down to hook you up with a couple spots to see for starters.

Again, it's awesome to see you on here. It'd be great to get an actual crew going on and build a more solid repertoire of locations here in our beautiful state.

*blushes* Oh, Chuck.
There have been/are a few others far more established in this state than me. Some of them moved away. A couple of them live in Madison.
Either way, good to have ya. Let's see whatchya got.

Hello everyone! Glad to see I got a response! I didn't think I'd get anything haha. Like I said, I'm very new to this, I just went to one area so far and basically just walk around Milwaukee and take pictures. I'm just interested in Milwaukee history and such so I like looking at old buildings and finding out where things used to be, or what they used to be. I'm also really interested in old theaters because Milwaukee used to have a ton of them. One of my life dreams is to go into the Grand Theater downtown. I'll show you some pictures I've taken, once again, I'm not a professional or anything so they're nothing special.

Well, you missed out on a lot of good stuff (especially in MKE), but then again, so have i. Unfortunately, Wisconsin has been on a demo spree these last few years. There are still some fantastic spots left, though. Ya just need to do a bit of diggin'.

Even if the photos aren't the best in quality, they'd still be great to see!
One thing i'll mention, though. By all means, contribute with your stories and photos, but try not to use actual names of locations or anything that may give away the location (ei. address, coords., identifying photos, etc.) We need to do our best to preserve what's left for as long as possible!

Good ol' Solvay.

Those photos aren't nearly as bad as some you'll see on here. No worries!

Thanks! Yeah, I have seen that Solvoy is the most common one haha. The railroad next to it is kind of neat to walk down as well. It was my first place I got to see, so I was excited.

I've actually never been there. People say it's not worth my time, but i'll check it out sooner or later, even just for a beer or two.

I grew up in mke and explored the shit outta the city when I was new around here. There's not much left that's above ground, but Milwaukee has some decent drains if you're willing to do your research. Take a look at Bing birdeye view, and go up and down the concrete riverways. There's a good drain called Ungrateful Rodent just north of the state fair grounds.

If you want to protect the locations you love to explore, don't talk about them online in public!
If you want to make exploring friends, send people private messages! Meet up in real life! Get off the internet!
Don't try to have a UER e-penis! You won't impress anyone! This especially means you, Minneapolis MN newbies!

That goes for you too, Chuck.

That would be swell. I've heard a little bit about ya and I look forward to absorbing your knowledge.

I'm free most of the time and have been very active lately. Ever since moving back to my hometown, I've been exploring every single weekend and a few weeknights as well. I usually reserve the weeknights for scouting but things have been lining up so well recently that I've found myself on a few Monday night outings (hung over as shit for work the next day).

But yeah, this little town has had some KILLER locations develop in the short 5 years that I was away. I've also got a hunch that there is a non-uer explorer running around town making entries on everything for me (and you). I'm always willing to drop what I'm doing, tell my woman, "I'm leaving", and go explore. So if ANY of you cool people ever want to meet up, I'm always down. I don't have my own car at the moment but I know a lot of original spots and will always throw down on gas.

I'm only an hour away from Milwaukee which I don't consider a particularly long drive. Let me know if you guys set something up!

Are you still camping this weekend? I should be free to meet up. I just cancelled that return trip to the plant. It looks like the demo crew has been there on the weekends lately. I have other ideas closer to home though, including (maybe) a theater. Let me know what you got going on and I might ride up. You definitely have to make a stop here one of these times though. It's only 15 minutes from Oshkosh.

I'll shoot you a message. No camping anymore. And yeah, i could probably come to your area Saturday morning perhaps. We'll talk, though.
