Jesus Theme Park
< on 6/29/2014 2:11 AM >

Took a trip to a very creepy Christian "theme park" - basically a series of dioramas in the desert, depicting significant events in the Bible. The statues were wrought of simple plaster, but they were in such poor condition that many of the figures were missing limbs or facial features, such that they looked like victims of maiming or severe burning.

Creepiness follows.

Cool, but imagine exploring this place at night. Jeez that'd be creepy. Nice find! Jesus approves. I think.

More than a bit creepy, and cool.

When there is tranquility, you are in the right place. When there are no footprints, you are on the right path. When there are no tire tracks, you are on the right road.

Don't let his place fool you. The cars for the "Last Supper" ride only seat 4 people, not 13...

Actually I know nothing about this place, but yea, I can't imagine shooting this place at night. Great find!

Haha, nice. I have to agree with everyone else though; I wouldn't want to be there at night.

Good question. I'll check it out and see.

And since the sentiment seems to be unanimous, I think I'll come back here and take some photography at dusk. Long shadows and dark contrasts should really enhance this.

If it was then no wonder it's abandoned, because that "documentary" blew.

Read about this place may times - I don't think its actually abandoned. In fact, I think they still hold events and such there. Nonetheless, great little slice of weird America. ( http://www.desertchristpark.org/ )
