nope, really didn't feel real then, and still doesn't as I sort through all the photos.
The chocolate mousse cake for desert was delicious.

I heard through the rumor mill that turning Hearn into a venue for events might actually become a thing, I'm excited at the thought of that rumor being true, the Portlands and Toronto needs something like that.

Some of the stuff they do at Hearn just boggles my mind, though it helps that its often a film set. Still that shit is bananas. B-a-n-a-n-a-s.

edit: it was nice of them to put some proper flooring in. who knows what the toxic mud would have done to a nice pair of shoes!

yeah, it was. At one point I was cutting a rug with the dean of OCAD, it was one of those 'is this real? or is this one of my crazy post apocalyptic city dreams now featuring Hearn as a club?'
but waking up in the morning with a deathly hangover sure validated the fact that it was legit.

Yeah ... those corporate types and their $2000 Gucci loafers ... lol ...
Depending on who runs the venue it seems like it's going to run corporate functions and fundraisers as opposed to letting college kids party in there. If Liberty Entertainment Group picks it up like they did Casa Loma expect good things ... just harder for us to get in to. You don't want to mess with Liberty ...

hahaha yeah I didn't see Gucci slippers, but the dean of OCAD was wearing a really really wild Jean Paul Gautier vest that was comprised of a bunch of 1.5" square holograms of eyes. pretty wild.
and yeah, I def don't see this becoming a night club type venue, I mean we can't even have kids at the Aviici party at MLS without 50 ambulance calls for overdoses before midnight. The youth these days can't party like we used to in the 90's, responsibly, with warehouse parties all the time they rarely had to call for medics or had fatalities....well they did have the ambulance bus at a Downsview air force base hangar once, but those situations were few and far between. Speaking of Liberty,funny enough I actually chatted with Nick Di Donato (President of Liberty Grand Ent) who was there about how this place needs to see this more often, he agreed. Who knows what the future holds for Hearn.

Yeah as much as I wanted to get upstairs and do that;
a) security was pretty tight, almost everywhere you turned you were within a few feet of a guard
b) suited up, drunk, and exploring are not 3 things I ever want to put together. lol ;)

I've seen it happen with graffiti, Air can attest to that from some of the stuff we attended back in the days... so I guess this was kind of expected, maybe.
