My girlfriend just bought me a GoPro. I took my first videos last weekend under ground and learned that I need to provide a ton of light to make anything worth viewing. Even above ground at dusk the video is way too dark.
All that erratic camera motion was giving me motion sickness so I had to shut it off at about 1 minute leaving 7 and a half minutes unwatched.
So here's my tip: Keep the camera motion slow and smooth. It's a camera not a flashlight. Think about the shot you want to take and compose it. Shoot it several times. Edit out the bad, keep the good. Next time, consider bringing some lights with you so you can properly light a shot and not rely on that claustrophobic tunnel-vision camera spotlight. Shooting footage worth watching requires time, effort and some gear. Epic UE locations are worth the investment.

Thanks! We have been talking about getting some nice LED wireless flood lights to bring with.
Cuts, cuts, cuts. A tell tale sign of a very amateur video is just turning on a camera and walking around through a building. Make it interesting by cutting out the cool stuff you find, or the nice smooth pan you got down that hallway, etc.
Set up a tripod and have some people walk around in front of the camera to add some depth to it. Video cameras require some sort of movement so always try to have something moving in the shot, otherwise it will just look like a picture slideshow. It could be a nice composition of a tattered curtain blowing in the wind, or a sweet time-lapse with the light creeping across the floor. The sky is the limit when it comes to video work.
Go through the video section and find some videos from others and see what you think.
Also, [youtube = affdef23] is the code to embed your video here, minus the spaces.
A very simple type edit from a hospital, but you might get some ideas:

It's all about them smooth camera movements...also, the music didn't really flow with the video that well, you really want to try to avoid having really long segments of the same video clip, and try to cut it up a bit.
