A small find on the beach

Hey everyone, yesterday we hiked out along the straight to this small, interesting site. I believe it was a part of the underwater cable that existed before the overhead power lines. Now I'm not sure when it was built or when it stopped being used, but it appears in an aerial photo of the area from 1939.

On the hike along the rocky beach we found this sign of something cool coming up.
1.

A little farther down the beach we found what we were looking for..
2.

The sign has been repainted in the last few months for some reason.
3.

The structure itself has two parts. One is the large cement pad that extends to the water. The other is the small shack built on top, behind the sign.
The cement pad still had some old chains attached.
4.

The shack is tiny and empty..
5.

6.

But there was also a small section underneath the shack.
7.

It was small too but it was kind of cool.
8.

10.

11.

Lastly, there was a small foundation off to the side that had collapsed.
12.

What do you guys think?

Looks like you found an old outhouse.

The giant rusted steel bits are kind of cool.
