Is the lid thats not locked still sealed with tar?
Walk south about a quarter mile from there and you'll find a walkable RCP..

yea. that other lid was still sealed. it looked like it was a rusty weld all the way around. what is rcp. I was a quarter mile south of there

Nice stuff dude! I always called that one "Satanic Serviceway" based on a tag that was there in '08 when I was doing all of my Milwaukee draining while I lived there. Never got this one open; I figured you'd have to get a crank and connect the railing to the chain on the gate below and winch it open to check it out, since there's no way you're getting that manhole off without a nice hot torch to burn that tar away...

Relux is right; there should be an RCP about a mile south, hidden under an insurance firm's viewing boardwalk along the lake. I forget what I called that one, but never got to see that one either... security chased us away. Next time approach from the park just north and walk the shore down.

Thanks for the kind words from everyone. I definitely know of the other place youre talking about. It's some sort of an investment firm with clearly posted no trespassing signs. It appears completely deserted every time I go by. And these were what I'd consider normal business hours. So, I find myself wondering what the deal is with that place. Is it operational...etc... Only one time have I ever seen a car parked there and it seemed to be a cleaning lady or something. The building's exterior is almost all windows allowing views all the way through from the road to the lake on all levels of the building. I could see the lady walking around in there. Other than that, there seems to be no activity at the place. I could be dead wrong though and maybe the place is still operating as the offices appear to be completely full and functional. I did sneak down behind one time to the little pier/viewing dock thingy. I only spent a couple minutes because of the apparent security measures in place. But I had no idea what I was standing right on top of.
I also trekked south from these gates a few hundred yards along the lake. But I ended up climbing back up to the trail because I had left my bicycle unattended. I wish I had gone only a little further. But now I know. Thanks for the info.

Hi, everyone! Apparently this is a great find, according to all of the positive feedback y'all are giving him 
Now for my questions: What is so awesome about draining? Before y'all get defensive, I am in NO WAY trolling or being a jerk to this new member (I've already welcomed Chuck to UER in another post). That is simply it: what is so fun about draining? I know we have many branches of exploring such as rooftop exploring, urban exploring, rural exploring , and infiltration explorations, to which I am aware that people who are not into our "weird" hobby find what all of us in here do to be "boring". Pfft-their loss ;)
But with draining, what do y'all do? Walk around and eventually find the sewers? What is there to see? I myself once went for a walk along the bayou with my best friend from high school and we encountered a drain (didn't know that it was a thing at the time), so, our curiosity told us to walk into the darkness. We were very unprepared, and we ended up walking about 2 miles in complete darkness, until we reached the light on the other side. Not very fun(for me anyways). What are your experiences, guys? A ton of questions, I know.

No, but seriously.. It's not only about the drains, it's about tunnels, in general. Drains, sewers, steam tunnels, underground streams, subways, caves, mines, etc. There are elaborate systems of tunnels under our feet at all times, many even abandoned. Some interconnect. Some are their own giant series. Amazing things lie below us, just as much as all around us. It's a whole 'nother world down there, with it's own breathtaking sights waiting to be seen and fantastic memories waiting to be made.
I recommend trying more than just the boring ol' common, neck-cramping cement drain.
I'd post some examples, but i don't shoot underground. I'm sure someone has some crazy photos to share..

The thing is that I haven't seen any sets from drains in these forums (not that I was searching for them either). However, I have seen about 2 or 3 from cave/mine explorers, and they were interesting.

AZ, unfortunately we don't have any interesting ones around us. As far as I know, ours are only the standard, no so interesting, ones. Other states/cities have some really interesting ones.
Edit: By the way, Chuck, that looks pretty interesting. Makes me wonder what's inside.
