Does anyone know of a decent water proof headlamp? This summer I'm going to be taking my hiking to new heights, trying to hike some sunrise/sunset hikes. Problem is there is a tendency for it to rain a lot where I'm headed especially at dawn or dusk, due to being an island and the whole orographic lift. So far I've come across the Black Diamond - Storm. However would prefer something with AA's and not AAA's since I already have a ton of rechargeable AA batteries.

Check out the fenix HP series. They're ridiculously bright....I had the HP10 for quite some time until I lost it, and now I have the HP11. Customer service is exceptional, and I can attest to the waterproof-ness...I took my HP10 underwater to check the depth of a murky lake once before cliff diving. http://www.fenixli....aspx?cid=2&tid=13

Seconding Fenix. My HP10 is still going strong, but if/when it dies or needs replacement, I'll pick up another Fenix. That HP30 looks pretty nice...

petzl has a specific line of waterproof/chemical proof headlamps, but they aren't easy to find at normal retailers...

I like it, but the HP25 looks a bit more enticing to me...the dual flood/throw lights is just brilliant, and I always seem to forget batteries as I'm packing for any adventure. Being able to drop by anywhere and get some AA's is always a plus.

The new Black Diamond Storm has the highest water resistant/shock resistant/dust resistant rating right now. They also upped the lumens to 250. Gave it a green light in addition to the red light. And the price point has not changed.
